As part of National Apprenticeship Week, we have been catching up with our 2023/2024 class of apprentices. Sienna joined our HR team with aspirations of becoming a HR Advisor one day. She has completed her HR apprenticeship with a Distinction and is now a HR Support Officer. Learn more about Sienna’s HR apprenticeship and her next steps…

Please tell us about yourself and your apprenticeship.
Hi, my name is Sienna. I started with FEPS over 18 months ago, and during this time I have progressed from HR apprentice into a HR Support Officer. My apprenticeship course lasted 12 months with a final milestone assessment which dictated my end result of a Distinction.
How did you come to join Fusion Education People Solutions?
After finishing my A-Levels, I was weighing up the decision of either beginning an apprenticeship or going to university. I decided to join FEPS after having an interest to begin a career within HR. After visiting the office, I knew this was where I wanted my career to commence, the positive atmosphere and friendly faces were a big factor in my decision to join the team.
What did you find most beneficial from doing your apprenticeship, and why?
I found that my learning on the course, supported me in my day-to-day activities. From learning about safeguarding to absence processes, I have been able to progress through the career pathway at FEPS, leading me onto become a HR Support Officer. There are many positive factors of an apprenticeship such as being able to gain high quality training at the same time as being paid, finishing the course with no debt to repay, and gaining a professionally recognised qualification.
What are your next steps and career aspirations?
I am currently aspiring to become a HR advisor. By shadowing my colleague’s meetings, I have been able to increase my knowledge and understand the practices and procedures that need to be followed and the reasoning behind this.
Sienna is now a vital part of our FusionHR team, and we are so excited to see where the next steps of her career progression take her!
Stay tuned for the final instalment of our National Apprenticeship Week series being released tomorrow on the FEPS socials!
