Following our most recent blog, focusing on the worry that recommendations on Teacher Pay will not be responded to before the 4th July 2024 election, three unions have responded.
On 3rd June 2024, UNISON, GMB and Unite each responded with their recommendations. UNISON have recommended that Teachers reject the offer, with consultation dates to run from 5th June 2024 to 28th June 2024.
GMB have not proposed a recommendation and will ballot member from 3rd June 2024 to 5th July 2024.
Finally, Unite, like UNISON, have recommended to fully reject the offer, with no consultation dates given.
The National Employers have advised against making any pay decisions until the collective bargaining process has completed.
It is important to keep an eye on the consultation process for each union and note any updates or recommendations. Stay aware of the ongoing consultations and the advice from the National Employers so they can manage their expectations.
These recommendations give all different approaches, so it may be helpful to prepare for various outcomes based on the unions’ final decisions and recommendations.
