Support Staff Pay Award 2024 – AGREEMENT REACHED
This week, 22 October 2024, the Trade Union Secretaries wrote to the Chief Executive of Regional Employers to accept their pay offer. The new pay rates will see an increase of £1,290 to each spinal column point (SCP).
All locally determined pay points, i.e. special grades, above the maximum spinal column point (point 43) but graded below the deputy chief officer should increase by 2.5% in accordance with part 2 paragraph 5.4 of the Green Book.
Rates of protected allowances have also been increased.
What does this mean for you now?
You will need to update your pay scales for your staff members and ensure they receive their back dated pay to 1 April 2024. This must be done without delay and should not be staggered over a specified period.
If requested by an ex-employee to do so, we recommend that employers should pay any monies due to that employee from 1 April 2024 to the employee’s last day of employment.
Make sure your HRIS systems are up to date to reflect the increase in pay for your support staff, and don’t forget the Teacher Pay increase of 5.5% is effective 8 November 2024 to be backdated to 1 September 2024.
